Lokah Chapter 1 sees strong weekend collection; nears ₹75 cr mark
text_fieldsActor Kalyani Priyadarshan’s superhero drama Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has seen a strong surge at the box office over the weekend, largely driven by positive word of mouth. Backed by Dulquer Salmaan, the Malayalam film is now close to entering the ₹75 crore club.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie earned ₹9.75 crore net on its 10th day in India, with Malayalam contributing ₹7.25 crore, Telugu ₹1.25 crore, Tamil ₹0.85 crore, and Hindi ₹0.4 crore. This marks a growth of around 27.45% in collections from Friday to Saturday, taking its total domestic earnings to ₹72.1 crore net.
Made on a reported budget of ₹30 crore, the film is directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films. Released in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the movie continues to perform well, recording an impressive overall Malayalam occupancy of 88.26% on its second Saturday, TNIE reported.
The film continued its strong box office run on day 10, drawing impressive crowds throughout the day. Morning shows recorded an occupancy of 79.56%, which rose sharply to 92.61% in the afternoon and further sustained at 93.07% during the evening. Even night shows performed well, maintaining a solid 87.81% turnout.
For the Telugu version, the film registered an overall occupancy of 55.09% on its 10th day. It began on a slower note with 32.73% in the morning but gradually picked up by afternoon at 54.70%, climbing to 58.99% in the evening and peaking at 73.95% during the night shows.
The Hindi and Tamil box office figures for day 10 are yet to be released.
Earlier reports indicated that Lokah Chapter 1 has become the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2025, trailing only behind Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan and Mohanlal’s Thudarum.
As the first instalment in the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe (WCU), the film features Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role alongside an ensemble cast including Naslen, Sandy, Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Nishanth Sagar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Nithya Shri, and Sarath Sabha.
