The Conjuring: Last Rites opened with strong numbers in India, surpassing Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 on day one.

According to Sacnilk, the horror film earned around ₹18 crore net across all languages on its opening day.

It recorded an overall 61.10% occupancy for English shows and 49.61% for Hindi shows. English 4DX screenings reached nearly 92% capacity, with Hyderabad touching 99–100% in some slots. Hindi 4DX showed an average 91% occupancy, while Hindi 2D stood at 50%. Regional releases in Telugu and Tamil also added to the turnout.

Pre-sales reflected strong anticipation.

The film sold 2.27 lakh tickets through PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, the highest for 2025 so far. It overtook Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which sold 2.23 lakh tickets. Other pre-sales leaders included Saiyaara (1.93 lakh), Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (1.65 lakh), and Baaghi 4 (1.55 lakh).

Meanwhile, Baaghi 4 fell short on its first day.

The film managed ₹12 crore with an overall Hindi occupancy of 28.32%. Directed by A Harsha and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the movie failed to match the franchise’s earlier records. Baaghi 3 had earned ₹17.5 crore on its opening day, while Baaghi 2 debuted with ₹25 crore.

The Conjuring: Last Rites is the ninth and final film in Phase One of The Conjuring Universe, which also includes Annabelle and The Nun. Starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in their final appearance as paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren, the story follows the haunting of a Pennsylvania family, inspired by the real-life Smurl case.

The film marks the end of one chapter for the franchise, but Phase Two is already in the works.
