Adani-run Ahmedabad airport tops global survey for passenger satisfaction
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), operated by the Adani Group, has secured the top rank in passenger satisfaction and overall experience in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI) for the second quarter of 2025.
The airport, which falls under the 5–15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category, achieved a perfect score of 5 out of 5 in both Q1 and Q2 of 2025. The recognition is based on direct passenger feedback and evaluates aspects such as ease of travel, waiting times, staff behaviour, cleanliness, and overall comfort at the airport.
While passenger satisfaction ratings are based on criteria like queue lengths, signage clarity, and staff helpfulness, the passenger experience score highlights the seamlessness, comfort, and overall enjoyment of a traveller’s journey through the airport.
SVPIA excelled on both fronts, consistently ranking among the top airports globally and within the Asia-Pacific region. Travellers praised the facility for its clear signage, easily accessible check-in counters, short security queues, courteous staff, clean seating areas, and pleasant ambience.
The ASQ survey, conducted between April and June 2025, also revealed a high “emotional score,” reflecting that passengers left the airport with a highly positive impression of their experience.
This achievement underscores Adani Airports’ vision to position Indian airports as world-class, passenger-centric hubs. SVPIA’s strong performance is attributed to continued investment in infrastructure, digital innovations, and rigorous staff training focused on elevating service quality.
Spread over 987 acres with over 80 years of legacy, SVPIA is Gujarat’s busiest airport, having handled 13.3 million passengers in 2024–25 and managing nearly 280 flights daily. It also processes over 100,000 metric tons of cargo each year.
SVPIA has garnered several accolades in recent years, including becoming the first airport in India to receive the 5S Certification from JUSE and QCFI, attaining Level 4 accreditation from ACI, and earning the prestigious “Zero Waste to Landfill” recognition from the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development.
