Atiq Ahmed was about to reveal secrets, opposition killed him: UP minister

Sambhal: Uttar Pradesh minister Dharampal Singh alleged that the opposition parties are responsible for the murder of gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf. He said that the duo was about to reveal the secrets of the opposition.
"The truth is that the opposition is involved in getting Atiq killed. Some serious secrets were about to be revealed, that's why the opposition got him murdered," said the BJP leader. He arrived in Sambhal on Friday to attend the BJP workers' conference for the Chandausi civic polls.
Atiq Ahmad (60) and his brother Ashraf were shot dead at point-blank range during a media interaction by three men posing as journalists. The police were escorting them to a medical college in Prayagraj for a checkup. The assailants were arrested by the police and the state government has constituted a three-member judicial inquiry commission to probe the matter.
