BJP leader says Narendra Modi favourite actor; Congress roasts
text_fieldsJaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister and BJP leader Bhajan Lal Sharma’s weekend cracker that Narendra Modi is his favourite actor has given fodder for the Congress to roast him as well as the saffron party. Congress mocked that they were of the same opinion for a long time, The Indian Express reported.
Bhajan Lal Sharma made the remark at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards ceremony in Jaipur, where journalists interacted with him. When he was asked about his favourite actor, he replied, “Narendra Modi Ji”.
Reacting to this, Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra said on X, “We have been saying this for a long time… that Modi ji is not a leader but an actor. Though it has been a while, even the Chief Ministers of the BJP government have started saying that Modi Ji is not a public leader but an actor. He is an expert in camera skills, teleprompter, costumes and flowery speeches.”
Congress leader Pawan Khera tagged Sharma and said, “You are right, Bhajan Lal ji, PM Modi is a good actor. But don’t you think that sometimes he has started over-acting too much?”
The Aam Aadmi Party shared a video of the interaction on its official X handle. The party wrote, “Chief Ministers and leaders of the BJP themselves believe that there has never been and will never be a bigger actor in this country than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bhardwaj claimed that the question asked to the CM was about his “favourite hero.”
“Congressmen, kneeling at the feet of one family, continuing their tradition of lies and deceit, are trying unsuccessfully to write fake scripts by editing videos,” TIE quoted Bharadwaj.
