New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has updated on Sunday that India recorded 3,116 fresh Covid-19 cases, the lowest in 676 days. With this, the cumulative caseload reached 4,29,90,991, PTI reported.

The country added 47 fresh deaths and reached 5,15,850 total deaths since the pandemic broke out, as per the ministry update on 10 am on Sunday.

Currently, active cases constitute 0.09 per cent of the total infections while the national Covid-19 recovery rate improved to 98.71 per cent, the ministry informed. The active case pool reduced 2,490 cases in the last 24 hours, it added.

The latest update recorded the daily positivity rate as 0.41 per cent while the weekly positivity rate met 0.50. the cumulative count of those recovered reached 4,24,37,072, and fatality rated reached 1.20 per cent. The nation's vaccine drive had reached administering more than 180.13 crore total doses.

India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

The country crossed the two crores on May 4 and three crores on June 23 last year.
