Hyderabad student assaulted after entering dandiya event

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old engineering student has alleged that he was assaulted after entering a dandiya event in the city along with his friends.
The incident took place at The Park Hotel near Raj Bhavan Road, where a group of unidentified men reportedly approached the students and asked one of them his name. On revealing it, the men allegedly began assaulting him.
The student managed to escape with the help of a police officer present at the venue and reached Panjagutta Police Station, where he filed a complaint. Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
The case comes amid calls by certain Hindu organizations for organizers of dandiya events in Hyderabad to check Aadhaar cards of attendees and apply tilak to participants at the entrance.
