The airports that the two airlines mentioned were reopened for civilian flights on Monday. They were temporarily shit after tensions brewed between India and Pakistan. On Monday, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced that civilian flight operations were to resume at 32 airports from May 15.
Tensions between the two countries simmered following a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the merciless killing of 25 tourists and a guide in Kashmir’s Pahalgam by terrorists on April 22. As a retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (Pok). Both countries exchanged offensive attacks, though most of Pakistan's attacks were thwarted by the Indian defence. However, India reportedly struck multiple locations in Pakistan territory, and a serious war-like situation was brewing before a ceasefire was agreed between the powers.
