New Delhi: A ban on meat sales in Ghaziabad during the Navratra, which is taking place from 2-10 April, was overturned by Ghaziabad Mayor Asha Sharma on Saturday.

The ban on meat shops during this festival, which is celebrated over nine days, occurs every year during Chaitra Navratri. This year, however, the order was reversed, as devotees pray to Goddess Durga in nine forms.

Although the Mayor reversed her decision, the meat shops in Ghaziabad remained closed.
