Muslim couple in Uttar Pradesh killed over son’s affair with Hindu girl

Sitapur: A man and his wife were beaten to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur over their son’s affair with a Hindu girl, NDTV reported.
Abbas and his wife Kamrul Nisha died on the spot after they were attacked by their neighbours with iron rods and sticks on Friday.
The couple’s son was in jail after he eloped with a minor girl in the neighbourhood a few years ago, Sitapur Superintendent of Police Chakresh Mishra reportedly said.
He was released from jail a few days ago when some people in the neighhourhood planned to attack the couple, NDTV reported citing the police.
Three people have been arrested in the case, despite all the accused fled the spot after the crime.
Chakresh Mishra was quoted as saying that ‘According to the villagers, the son of the deceased couple and Shaukat Rampal's daughter Ruby had an affair. Shaukat had abducted Ruby in the year 2020. At that time, Ruby was a minor and after registering a case, the police sent Shaukat to jail. He again abducted and married Ruby in June’.
Police are looking for two more involved in attacking and murdering the couple, according to the report.
