PM Modi takes Bengaluru Metro ride with students after inaugurating Yellow Line

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated Bengaluru’s Yellow Line Metro service at R.V. Road (Ragigudda) Metro Station and later took a 19.15-km ride to Bommanahalli Metro Station, interacting with students, women, Metro workers and staff along the way.
Eight children, 16 girl students from government schools and eight workers who contributed to the Yellow Line project travelled with the Prime Minister during the journey. Modi engaged in candid conversations with them before sitting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and other dignitaries on the Metro. The CM and Dy CM, seated on either side of him, were seen sharing hearty laughter with the Prime Minister.
The newly launched Yellow Line connects Bengaluru’s Central District to the city’s tech hub, Electronics City. Before boarding the train, Modi purchased a ticket by scanning a QR code at the station. Officials from the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), along with Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, briefed him on the project’s features. The Prime Minister then flagged off the first Yellow Line service.
The inauguration was attended by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Ministers Manohar Lal, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Shobha Karandlaje, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna, and Bengaluru Rural BJP MP C.N. Manjunath, among others.
Despite rain, thousands gathered at the R.V. Road station to catch a glimpse of Modi, raising slogans and showering flowers on his vehicle. The Prime Minister waved to acknowledge the cheering crowd.
