Hyderabad: The Maharashtra Police on April 4 issued a notice to Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh, directing him to avoid any actions that could disturb communal harmony during a public gathering scheduled in Biloli.

Officials from the Biloli Police said they feared his presence at the event could potentially lead to a breach of peace or hurt the religious sentiments of other communities.

Singh was scheduled to address a gathering at 6 pm on the occasion of Ram Navami, at a time when prohibitory orders were already in force in the area under the directions of the Nanded District Magistrate.

The notice cautioned him against making inflammatory or derogatory remarks, including the use of certain slurs, such as “mulla,” “lando,” “Aurangzeb ke aullado” and “katve”, and advised him to avoid statements that could incite violence or create tensions between communities, Siasat Daily reported.

Authorities also instructed him to limit his stay strictly to the duration of the event and warned that any violation of the orders could invite legal action.

Responding to the notice, Singh described the move as unfortunate and questioned whether such restrictions were appropriate for gatherings aimed at promoting Hindutva and unity among Hindus. He added that expressing views and raising awareness are fundamental rights in a democratic system and said the action was concerning.
