Jaipur: India’s border states of Rajasthan and Punjab are on high alert following the country’s blistering attack on terror camps in interior Pakistan and Pak-Occupied Kashmir, according to NDTV.

Local administrations have taken measures including cancelling leaves of police personnel, banning public gathering and sealing the border, anticipating escalation from across the border.

India’s precision attack, dubbed as Operation Sindoor, has staggered Pakistan after the pre-dawn raid dismantled some of the terror camps in the country.

Rajasthan that shares a 1,037-km border with Pakistan sealed this vast stretch of land completely.

Authorities have given Border Security Force personnel the order to shoot-on-sight in the event of spotting any suspicious activity.

With fighter jets patrolling the skies in the Western sector, regular flight movements from Jodhpur, Kishangarh and Bikaner airports will remain suspended till May 9.

Sukhoi-30 MKI jets are carrying out patrols from Ganganagar to the Rann of Kutch.

Schools in Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, and Barmer districts have been shut alongside postponing exams.

It is reported citing sources that missile defence systems are activated.

Evacuation plans are in place in the border villages to respond to emergency with drone system working in tandem.

Blackout orders have been issued for Jaisalmer and Jodhpur from midnight to 4 am.

Striking the targets during blackout is difficult for enemy pilots’ advanced high-speed aircraft.

In Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann cancelled all government events alongside banning public gatherings.

Operation Sindoor was a strong response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed live of 26 innocents a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the Indian missile strikes an ‘act of war’, announcing that his country has right to give a ‘befitting reply.’
