New Delhi: The BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has a sprawling new office ready in Delhi spending eye-popping Rs 150 crore, according to NDTV.

Spread over 3.75 acres, the office in three 12-storey towers with 300 rooms will be used to hold RSS events and lodge RSS workers and leaders.

With some interior works remaining, the new office is set to become a landmark building in Delhi's Jhandewalan.

The work for the office complex that began in 2018 featured ancient and modern techniques.

The main auditorium honours the memory of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal.

Singhal was at the forefront of the organisation’s Ram Temple movement that catapulted the BJP to power.

While the office remains to be known as Keshav Kunj, the three towers are named Sadhna, Prerna and Archna.

The building comes with massive solar power facility, a library with 8,500 books open to researchers, and a clinic with a five-bed hospital among other features.

It is reported that it cost Rs 150 crore for RSS to build it, with at least 75,000 donors contributing to pull off the project.

The RSS has been operating at a rented place since office rebuilding started in 2016 at its hub where it had situated since 1962.

Gujarat-based architect Anup Dave designed the new building that fuses modern technology with ancient architectural practices.

The RSS publications Panchjanya and Organiser and publishing firm Suruchi Prakashan will have offices in the new building.

The intervening episode of Covid-19 led to delay the building’s construction, eventually taking over eight years.

Setting in work in the new office, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale will attend Delhi unit’s ‘karyakarta sammelan’ on February 19.

Headquartered in Nagpur, RSS will host its annual top decision-making body 'Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha' in Bengaluru from March 21 to March 23.

At the meeting, some 1,500 people including senior functionaries and affiliated organisations will discuss key issues to outline the organization’s policy positions.
