An FIR was filed against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat on Monday for allegedly making an inflammatory speech that could incite communal tension, police reported.

Bhat delivered the speech on May 12 during a condolence meeting for Hindutva activist and known rowdy-sheeter Shuhas Shetty, who was murdered in Mangaluru on May 1.

According to a police statement, the event took place at Madwa Palace Convention Hall in Kavalapadur village, within the jurisdiction of Bantwal Rural Police Station.

Addressing a crowd of around 500 attendees, Bhat allegedly made provocative remarks that could disrupt public harmony and fuel enmity between communities.

Authorities have registered a case against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further legal action is being pursued, police confirmed.
