Subramanian Swamy denies rumours of joining TMC after Mamata meet
cancel

New Delhi: On Wednesday, Subramanian Swamy, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, met West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee in Delhi. Swamy cancelled the rumours that he was joining the TMC after the meeting.

The rumours about Swamy joining TMC emerged after Swamy openly backed Banerjee when she was denied permission to travel to Rome for a conference.

Many politicians including Congress leaders Kirti Azad and Ashok Tanwar have left their parties to join TMC

Swamy appears to be dissatisfied with the Modi government's economic policies and the Sino-Indian border dispute.

Meanwhile, the TMC intends to expand its political reach throughout the country.

Many BJP, JDU, and Congress politicians have joined the TMC before elections in five states.

With a larger plan for the 2024 elections, Mamata is meeting prominent leaders across the party.
