Kannauj/UP: Around 70 people, including children, from an Uttar Pradesh wedding feast were hospitalized on Tuesday for suspected food poisoning, PTI reported.

According to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Garima Singh, around 200 people consumed food from the function, and some 70 complained about vomiting and diarrhoea after eating 'rasgulla'. It's a milk-based desert.

Eight of those who became sick were admitted to the district hospital after their condition turned worse. Five out of the eight were children, which included a one-year-old and a two-year-old.

Fortunately, the condition of all patients admitted to the district hospital is stable at the moment, as per the Chief Medical Superintendent of the district hospital, Dr Shakti Basu.

A resident of the village stated that almost everyone who attended the feast had eaten the rasgulla before some of them fell ill.
