An email threatening to blow up the Taj Mahal was sent to the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department on Tuesday. However, the police confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Sayed Areeb Ahmad, nothing unusual was discovered after the bomb disposal unit and dog squad were called into action, TNIE reported.

Ahmad told ANI, "An email was received by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism office threatening to blow up the Taj Mahal. We have found nothing as per the email. Bomb disposal squad, dog squad and other teams reached the Taj Mahal for the safety check.”
