‘Whole of Pakistan is within range’: top official warns after Op Sindoor

New Delhi: Lt Gen Sumer Ivan D'Cunha, Director General of Army Air Defence on Monday said that ‘The whole of Pakistan is within range’ of India’s military capability of striking targets, news agency ANI reported.

Lt Gen D'Cunha’s remarks comes in the aftermath of India’s Operation Sindoor, which showcased the country’s military powers and precision in attacks.

Warning the neighbouring country, Lt Gen D'Cunha said that even if Pakistan relocates the General Headquarters (GHQ) of its army from Rawalpindi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), the country will still ‘find a deep hole’, suggesting India’s military capabilities.

India’s blistering attack targeting Pakistan’s airbases and terror camps set Operation Sindoor a new normal in the country’s response to cross border terrorism.

Lt Gen D'Cunha unequivocally stated that ‘India has an adequate arsenal of weapons to take on Pakistan right across its depth. So, from its broadest to its narrowest, wherever it is, the whole of Pakistan is within range. We are absolutely capable, from our borders or even in depth, where we can take on the entire Pakistan. And the GHQ can move from Rawalpindi to KPK or wherever they want to move, but they are all within range, so they will have to really find a deep hole.’

Operation Sindoor earned wide attention internationally after it showcased indigenous technology including long-range drones, air defence systems, and high precision of missiles.

Pointing out that the duty of armed forces is to protect the sovereignty of the country and its people, Lt Gen D'Cunha added that they were able to protect the motherland by warding off attack on ‘population centers’ and cantonments.

Referring to drone attacks from Pakistan, Lt Gen D'Cunha said ‘And the very fact that we ensured that this did not manifest in any casualties, I am sure it not only made the soldier feel proud, it made the families feel proud. And finally, the population of India feel proud. I think that's the takeaway.’
