Kozhikode: Kerala on Tuesday reported 6862 new Covid-19 cases. A total of 61,138 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, taking the test positivity rate below 12 for the first time in recent weeks.
In a Facebook post, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said as many as 8802 people recovered from the disease on Monday.
5,899 people contracted the disease through local transmission.
Across the state, 2,96,614 people are under observation at various places, including 20,770 at hospitals.
As on Tuesday, there are 652 hotspots in the state as nine places were delisted while four new places were added to the list.
