Kottayam: In Kerala’s Kottayam, a couple found dead at home. Vijayakumar (age 64), the owner of Indraprastha Auditorium, and his wife Meera (age 60) were found dead inside their house in Thiruvathukkal near Kottayam city this morning by a domestic helper.

The police said that prima facie, both were murdered. Weapons were found near the bodies. The two were the only ones in the house, and when the maid came to check, she found that the front door was open.

The bodies were found in two rooms, and they sustained fatal injuries to their faces.

The couple has a son and a daughter. The son had died earlier while the daughter was abroad. A housekeeper was at home.

A migrant worker had previously worked there. He was dismissed due to his bad character. He had also been in jail for stealing a mobile phone. Relatives suggested that enmity was behind the murder, while the police also thought the same as the motive instead of theft.

A special team led by the DySP has been appointed to investigate the case.
