Covid 19: Kerala records 1417 new infections

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Tuesday recorded 1417 new cases of Covid 19. 1242 persons contracted the disease through contact. Cases with unknown source of infection rose to 105 during the last 24 hours. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told media here that 1426 persons were cured.

Five deaths were recorded due to the viral infection.

Of those who turned positive for the disease on Tuesday, 62 persons came from abroad while 72 people came from other states.

In an alarming development, 36 health workers also contracted the disease.

21,625 samples were tested during last 24 hours.

Along with fighting Covid19, the state health department is also taking measures to prevent rat fever and dengue fever.
