Kochi: After the prosecution submitted a request to cancel the bail granted to actor Dileep in the 2017 actress abduction case, the Kerala High Court on Wednesday issued him notice, IANS reported.

The Additional Special Session Judge, Ernakulam, had dismissed the prosecution's plea demanding the same, and it approached the high court challenging the former's 2017 order. The prosecution had argued that Dileep had violated the bail conditions as well as he and his co-accused destroyed evidence and tried to influence prosecution witnesses.

It was in July 2017, Dileep was arrested, and in October same year, he was granted bail by the High Court.

Further, he was named later in another case alleging conspiring to murder police officers investigating the 2017 actress assault case. This case was added after his former friend and film director Balachandar Kumar came up with the allegations.

This development comes at a time when the trial in the case is all set to resume after a long gap, IANS reported.
