Iran rubbishes Israel's claims of violating ceasefire
text_fieldsTel Aviv/Tehran: Claiming that Iran breached the ceasefire deal with Israel within the agreement, Israel's defence minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday that he had ordered his forces to respond forcefully, Reuters reported.
Katz's statement came after Israel’s military announced that it had detected missile launches from Iran towards their country.
It was only three hours before the military’s announcement that US President Donald Trump had said that Israel and Iran agreed on a ceasefire deal, which is in effect.
However, now, the Israeli defence minister has ordered high-intensity operations against targets in Tehran, Reuters reported.
Meanwhile, Iran denied Israel’s claims. It warned its security forces to stand ready to respond to any Israeli violations, a Reuters report says. Iran said that Israel continued its attacks for an hour and a half beyond the agreed time from the ceasefire was meant to start.
In the meantime, Trump accused both Israel and Iran of breaching the ceasefire on the day. He expressed his frustration, particularly with Israel, which had issued orders to strike Iran intensely.
Trump said that Israel must not drop, which could be a major violation, and it must withdraw its pilots.
"Israel. Do not drop those bombs. If you do it it is a major violation. Bring your pilots home, now!" Reuters quoted from Trump’s post on Truth Social.
He told reporters that he is not happy with either side of violating the truce, particularly Israel. He said that Israel went offensive straight after agreeing to a ceasefire.
Iran has informed that 610 of its citizens were killed and 4,746 others were injured in Israeli attacks in the past 12 days. Among the dead, there were 13 children, and the youngest was 2 months old.
