Gaza: Israel continues its massacre in Gaza even as talks on a ceasefire agreement are underway, opening fire on civilians who come to buy food, turning the UN food distribution centres into death traps. The Zionist forces killed 116 people via strikes, and 38 of them lost their lives while queuing outside aid distribution centres.

A 35-day-old baby died of malnutrition at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the hospital director, Mohammed Abu Salamiya, informed. With this, the number of deaths due to starvation in Gaza on Saturday reached two.

The 38 deaths on Saturday occurred at a food distribution centre northwest of Khan Younis and a centre near Rafah. The US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation estimates that at least 900 people have been killed at food distribution centres.

Officials say 17,000 children in Gaza are suffering from malnutrition. And emergency wards in many hospitals are full.

Meanwhile, Hundreds of students in Gaza attended their secondary school exams on Saturday as the Israeli offensive continued unabated. The exam is their first step towards their dream of university studies. The Gaza Education Department had announced earlier this month that the exam would be held on Saturday.

This is the first time an exam has been held in Gaza since October 2023, when the Israeli offensive on Gaza began. The Education Department said that 1,500 students have registered for the exam, which is being conducted using special software. The department stated that all preparations for this have been completed.

In the meantime, the spokesperson of Hamas’s military wing, Abu Obeida, announced on Friday that Israel has rejected a ceasefire deal that would have included the release of all captives held in Gaza. In a nearly 20-minute prerecorded video, Abu Obeida stated that Hamas had offered a comprehensive agreement in recent months to free all captives simultaneously, but it was turned down by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right ministers.
