Kuwaiti Crown Prince receives Japanese Foreign Minister
text_fieldsHis Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya at Bayan Palace on Monday. The visit came as part of the second Japan-GCC Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Cooperation Meeting held in Kuwait.
The Crown Prince was joined by Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, head of his Diwan and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya. Senior officials also attended the audience alongside the Japanese delegation.
On the same day, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah also welcomed Minister Iwaya at Bayan Palace. Talks focused on enhancing bilateral ties and exchanging views on regional and international issues.
Attending the session were Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Diwan chief Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Hayat.
Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya also held bilateral talks with his Japanese counterpart. They reviewed the strong relations between Kuwait and Japan and discussed ways to expand cooperation in various fields.
The ministers also addressed the latest regional and international developments. The visit highlighted Japan’s growing engagement with the Gulf region through the GCC-Japan Strategic Dialogue.
