Kuwait’s fifth relief plane departs for Gaza with 10 tons of food
text_fieldsKuwait sent its fifth relief plane to Gaza on Thursday. The aircraft left Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base for Jordan’s Marka Military Airport with 10 tons of food supplies. This flight is part of the second Kuwaiti air bridge.
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) organized the mission. It coordinated with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Defense, with support from the Kuwaiti Air Force.
“Kuwait stands in solidarity with its brothers in the Gaza Strip and is determined to continue providing urgent aid to meet their essential needs", KRCS Secretary-General Fahad Al-Mandeel told KUNA.
KRCS said it is intensifying efforts with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Jordan, the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to speed up delivery.
The Egyptian Red Crescent Society will deliver the first batch of Kuwaiti aid on Thursday via the Karam Abu Salem crossing. It will hand the supplies to PRCS for distribution to affected families in Gaza.
KRCS is closely tracking needs on the ground through its humanitarian partners.
Al-Mandeel thanked Kuwait’s leadership for its steady support to disaster-hit people. He also praised donors to the “Fazza for Gaza” campaign, noting it reflects the authenticity of Kuwaiti society and its solidarity with just humanitarian causes. “KRCS will remain present in every humanitarian crisis, as it is an honorable responsibility", he added.
