Retaliation! Iran unleashes severe blow to Israel’s ‘Pentagon’
text_fieldsTel Aviv: In a powerful retaliatory strike on Israel, Iran attacked the former’s one of the most heavily guarded military sites, the Kirya, also known as Israel’s ‘Pentagon’. The attack was after Israel's recent strikes named Operation Rising Lion, targeting Iran’s nuclear facility at Natanz, Fox News reported.
Iran also warned the US, UK and France that it would target their bases in the region if they attempted to attack Israel.
Kirya houses the general staff of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), the Ministry of Defence and critical military command and intelligence units. The place is considered a key asset in Israel’s national security operations.
Reports suggest that Iran fired a barrage of missiles at the Tel Aviv-based military complex, which is deep inside Israel’s defence infrastructure. It is to be noted that even Israel’s well-known air defence system, the Iron Dome, too failed to stop Iran’s targeted attacks.
Footage, verified by the New York Times, available online shows a missile blasting an area and causing severe damage.

Fox News wrote that the hit area, the Kirya, is known as Israel’s version of the Pentagon, where a building got hit.
The video shows Israel’s defence systems firing interceptors into the night sky, but a large explosion lit up central Tel Aviv. It is learned that a warhead penetrated Israel's defences and hit a sensitive command site.
A Fox News correspondent from the ground reported about a massive amount of Iranian ballistic missiles, which, according to him, make the rockets fired from Gaza look like toys. The person also reported that Iran used 150 ballistic missiles to hit residential areas and military facilities in and around Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned on Saturday that “Tehran will burn” if Iran continues its strikes.
