Saudi Arabia, Palestine sign three MoUs on education, digital growth, human capital
text_fieldsNew York: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa on the sidelines of the high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution. The discussions focused on bilateral relations, developments in Palestine and ways to coordinate efforts in support of Palestinian rights on the international stage.
Following the meeting, Saudi Arabia and Palestine signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering human capital development, educational reform and digital transformation.
The first agreement was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Palestinian General Personnel Council.
Eng. Ibrahim Bahamam, Director General of Human Capital Development, signed on behalf of Saudi Arabia, while Dr. Estephan Anton Salameh, Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, represented Palestine.
The second MoU was signed by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education to enhance curriculum development and benefit from Saudi Arabia’s experience in educational reform. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Ruwaili, CEO of the National Center for Curricula, signed for Saudi Arabia and Dr. Salameh signed for Palestine.
The third agreement focused on digital transformation and ICT collaboration between the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Palestinian Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. It was signed by Mansour Al-Qurashi, Saudi Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and Partnerships and Dr. Salameh representing the Palestinian side.
These MoUs aim to empower Palestinian youth through improved education and human resource development and to enhance digital infrastructure that can strengthen public services in Palestine.
