The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning to the public as thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected to persist across most regions of the Kingdom through Monday, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Thursday.

Residents are strongly urged to remain in safe locations, avoid valleys and flood-prone areas, and refrain from swimming in them due to the risk of sudden flooding.

The Civil Defense report also noted that dust-stirring winds and moderate to heavy rainfall are forecasted in key regions, including Makkah and Riyadh.

Additionally, moderate to heavy rain is expected across Tabuk, Madinah, Jouf, the Northern Borders, the Eastern Province, Hail, Qassim, Baha and Asir regions. Light to moderate rain will affect the Jazan region, while Najran is likely to see light showers.

Authorities have stressed the importance of following updates via official channels and social media platforms to stay informed on the latest weather developments and safety advisories.

The public is advised to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall. Emergency services remain on alert to respond to weather-related incidents.
