The Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, welcomed the newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mazen Ghoneim, during an official meeting held on Monday at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The meeting centered on the ministry’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience for Palestinian pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah. Al-Sheikh outlined the key programs designed to support and facilitate the religious journeys of Palestinians, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to serving Muslims globally.

Ambassador Ghoneim expressed profound gratitude for the Kingdom’s extensive efforts in supporting pilgrims from around the world, with particular appreciation for the services extended to Palestinian pilgrims. He highlighted the "generous program" initiated by the Saudi authorities, which provides family members of Palestinian martyrs the opportunity to perform Hajj with ease and comfort.

The ambassador’s remarks underscored the importance of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in fostering solidarity and ensuring that the families of martyrs are honoured during the sacred pilgrimage.

The meeting also reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Saudi Arabia and Palestine, with a shared focus on religious and humanitarian support. Both officials agreed on the importance of continuing collaboration to ensure seamless pilgrimage services for Palestinians.

This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as a leader in religious facilitation and its ongoing support for the Palestinian cause.
