Abu Dhabi Police summer advisory stresses child safety in hot weather
text_fieldsAbu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, has launched the sixth edition of the “Safe Summer” campaign. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles during the hot summer months.
In an official advisory, police warned that children should never be left alone in cars, whether the vehicle is moving or parked. They stressed that high temperatures can quickly turn deadly for young passengers, especially when the vehicle is not ventilated or parked in direct sunlight.
The campaign highlights several key safety practices for families. These include always placing children in proper safety seats and making sure seat belts are fastened. Police also urged parents to double-check that no child is left inside the car when exiting.
Drivers are encouraged to park in shaded areas and pay close attention when children are getting in or out of the vehicle. The police also advised against allowing children to open car doors or try to operate the vehicle. Sitting in the front seat, especially behind the wheel, is strongly discouraged for young children.
The campaign serves as a reminder to stay alert and take extra care during summer travel, when families are more likely to rely on cars for daily routines.
