Dubai Police have intensified efforts to curb illegal vehicle modifications that cause noise and disturbances by establishing 13 inspection checkpoints across the emirate. The announcement was made on X on Saturday.

The checkpoints are designed to ensure that vehicles meet safety standards and have not been altered in ways that could disrupt the comfort and safety of road users. The move comes in response to ongoing concerns over vehicles creating loud noises due to unauthorized modifications.

In a separate operation on Friday, Dubai Police seized 23 vehicles and three motorbikes in the Al Khawaneej area for creating loud noises and disturbances. These impoundments, attributed to illegal modifications, occurred within a span of just 24 hours.

Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said, "24 traffic fines were issued against the violators; and the fine for releasing an impounded vehicle can reach up to Dh10,000 each".

The authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining road safety and urged motorists to comply with regulations to avoid hefty penalties.
