Dubai warns of weekend delays on Emirates Road until August 30

Motorists travelling towards Sharjah via Emirates Road should brace for weekend delays, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.
The delays, expected every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 5pm and 8pm, will continue until August 30, 2025. The RTA attributed the congestion to ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works along the stretch between Dubai-Al Ain Road and the Al Amardi-Al Awir Road intersection, in the Sharjah-bound direction.
Authorities are urging drivers to plan their journeys ahead of time, consider alternative routes if possible, and allow extra travel time to ensure punctual arrival and avoid peak congestion.
The RTA assured that efforts are being made to complete the work efficiently while maintaining road safety and traffic flow.
