Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has expanded its taxi-sharing service to two new locations, adding more travel options between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Originally launched in November last year, the shared taxi service began with a single route connecting Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai and Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi. The service allows multiple passengers to travel together in the same cab while splitting the fare.

Effective this week, the RTA has added Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai World Trade Centre as new pick-up points. From Al Maktoum Airport, shared taxi routes will now serve Dubai Marina Mall, Business Bay Metro Station and the Palm Jumeirah to Atlantis Monorail Station. From the World Trade Centre, new routes include Business Bay Metro Station, Al Satwa Bus Station and Dubai Marina Mall.

The RTA said the expansion follows strong demand since the service’s launch, with passengers citing speed, convenience and affordable pricing as key factors. The service has seen growing interest from a broad range of commuters.
