Sharjah ruler mandates sewage connection for buildings on main roads

Sharjah: The Ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, issued a directive on Tuesday requiring all residential and commercial buildings located on main roads in Sharjah’s industrial areas to connect to the sewage network immediately.

This order is part of efforts to enhance environmental preservation, public health and safety.

The initiative aims to reduce reliance on tankers for draining floodwaters, thereby streamlining city operations and minimizing environmental impact.

In a phone interview, Dr. Al Qasimi emphasized the importance of meticulous planning in housing projects, including infrastructure aspects like sewage, gas, roads and greening.

He expressed satisfaction with the country’s progress in developing housing services and infrastructure.
