Sharjah: A new campaign, "Read You Are in Sharjah," aims to encourage children and teenagers to read daily by integrating reading spaces into the emirate’s landmarks. The initiative was launched by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Honorary President of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) and will be implemented by Menassah Distribution Company.

Inspired by Sharjah’s slogan, "Smile You Are in Sharjah," the campaign celebrates the emirate’s commitment to books and knowledge. Sheikha Bodour emphasized the collective responsibility of Sharjah’s cultural institutions to engage the younger generation and nurture their love for knowledge.

Recognized as the cultural capital of the Arab World by UNESCO in 1998, Sharjah has a long-standing reputation for cultural activities. The Sharjah Book Fair, one of the largest book fairs globally, has been held annually since 1982, attracting literary figures and numerous titles worldwide. In 2019, Sharjah was named the World Book Capital.
