UAE celebrates Union Pledge Day, launches 54th Eid Al Etihad plans
text_fieldsPreparations are now underway for the 54th Eid Al Etihad, the UAE's National Day, which falls on December 2. The announcement came on Friday, July 18, in honour of Union Pledge Day.
On this day in 1971, Sheikh Zayed and the founding fathers signed the Declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution. This act led to the formation of the country and is commemorated annually as Eid Al Etihad.
Eisa Alsubousi, director of strategic and creative affairs at the Eid Al Etihad team, said, “Union Pledge Day is more than a symbolic date. It signals a collective beginning of celebration and collaboration. This year, we reaffirm our commitment to partnership and inclusion, co-creating a memorable experience for all".
He added, “As the 54th Eid Al Etihad on December 2, 2025 approaches, every act of participation helps create a collective expression of national pride and shared identity, honouring the UAE’s values, rich heritage and future ambitions through meaningful moments and creative participation".
The Eid Al Etihad team has also released a short behind-the-scenes film on Friday. The film captures the scale and creativity of the 53rd Eid Al Etihad ceremony, which took place last year in Al Ain. The backdrop of Jebel Hafeet served as a dramatic setting for the event.
The film includes insights from the diverse team that worked on the show, offering a glimpse into the planning and production that brought the union’s story to life.
