The UAE Embassy in Comoros has issued a warning to its citizens residing or travelling in the African nation regarding the spread of cholera and malaria. The embassy urged all citizens to avoid crowded places and take precautionary measures to safeguard their health and well-being.

Comoros is currently facing a concerning situation with the spread of cholera. Cholera is a bacterial infection that causes severe diarrhoea and dehydration, posing a significant risk to public health.

In addition to the cholera outbreak, malaria remains a prevalent concern in Comoros. Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease that can lead to fever, chills and flu-like symptoms. The embassy emphasises the importance of protecting oneself from mosquito bites and seeking medical attention promptly if symptoms arise.

In case of any emergency or urgent assistance, citizens are urged to contact the UAE Embassy's helpline at +97180024.
