UAE hands over drug suspect wanted by Interpol to Netherlands
text_fieldsThe Ministry of Interior has handed over a wanted individual to the Netherlands after Dubai Police arrested him on the basis of an Interpol Red Notice. The ministry said in a post on Instagram that the fugitive faces charges of drug trafficking, money laundering and involvement in gang-related activities.
Officials said the transfer took place following a court ruling and a decision by the Ministry of Justice to extradite him, in line with international legal procedures. The Ministry of Interior noted the importance of cross-border cooperation to tackle transnational crime and protect public security.
Recent extraditions to Europe
Last week, authorities also extradited two international fugitives to France and Belgium as part of ongoing efforts to combat organised crime. Dubai Police apprehended both individuals based on Interpol Red Notices.
One of the suspects was among the most wanted by French authorities on drug-trafficking charges linked to an organised criminal network operating across several European countries. The other was listed among the most wanted by Belgian authorities over drug-trafficking cases and alleged involvement with a criminal gang inside Belgium.
