AITA honours Rohan Bopanna ahead of his final Davis Cup appearance

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) organised a felicitation ceremony for Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna as he prepares for his last Davis Cup appearance during the World Group II tie against Morocco, taking place at the Vijayant Khand Mini Stadium.

The felicitation event was attended by AITA President Anil Jain, India's Davis Cup captain Rohit Rajpal, who is also an Executive Committee Member of the Indian Olympic Association, AITA Secretary General Anil Dhupar, and other AITA officials.

Moroccan players also participated in the ceremony.

Rohan Bopanna, currently ranked seventh in the world in doubles, recently made history by becoming the oldest player to compete in a Grand Slam doubles final at the US Open.

His career includes reaching the 2010 US Open final and participating in the Nitto ATP Finals three times with different partners. Bopanna secured his maiden tennis major at the 2017 French Open in mixed doubles with Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski, joining an elite group of Indian players who have won a Grand Slam, including Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, and Sania Mirza. He also reached the mixed doubles finals of the 2018 and 2023 Australian Opens with Timea Babos and Sania Mirza, respectively.

As Bopanna prepares for his final Davis Cup appearance, the AITA highlighted his remarkable career and contributions to Indian tennis.
