Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed an unexpected off-field drama during the highly anticipated World Cup cricket match between Pakistan and Australia.

A viral video circulating on social media captured a moment where a police official engaged with a Pakistani fan, instructing him not to chant "Pakistan Zindabad." The incident has sparked a debate on social media, with opinions divided on whether fans should have the freedom to support their chosen teams.

In the video, the police officer is seen discouraging the fan from shouting pro-Pakistan slogans while nodding in approval when asked about chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai.' The fan, visibly frustrated, questioned why he couldn't support his home country, especially when Pakistan was playing.

A senior police officer clarified that the intention was not to insult anyone but to prevent potential clashes between the Pakistani supporter and a large number of Indian fans.

The Chinnaswamy Stadium had implemented strict measures, including discouraging fans from wearing black as a form of protest and avoiding provocative slogans on placards, in light of recent protests related to the Israel-Palestine conflict in the city.
