Google has launched a new iOS app called Google AI Edge Eloquent that automatically cleans up spoken audio and works entirely offline.

The app transcribes a user’s speech, removes filler words such as “uh” and “um,” and converts it into polished text. It runs AI models directly on the device, allowing it to work without sending data to the cloud.

Google AI Edge Eloquent is currently available only for iOS devices. Android users will have to wait for a later release.

The app can turn speech into several formats, including Key Points, Formal, Short, and Long. Users can also choose to switch on cloud processing for more advanced text cleanup through Gemini.

Google said the app is designed to improve over time by learning a user’s vocabulary and commonly used names, phrases, and terms.

Other features include word count tools and the ability to search through past recordings.

Google AI Edge Eloquent is the latest addition to Alphabet’s AI products, which include NotebookLM, Workspace AI, Vertex AI, and Google Vids.

The app is also expected to compete with other offline AI speech tools such as Wispr Flow and SuperWhisper.
