IIT Madras and University of Birmingham collaborate on sustainable energy systems programme

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has joined hands with the University of Birmingham to introduce a new Joint Masters programme focused on Sustainable Energy Systems.
Applications for this innovative course are now open on the official website, with offer letters set to be dispatched starting June 26, 2024.
The programme aims to equip graduates with specialized skills for a rapidly expanding industry at the forefront of combating climate change. Participants will engage in substantial individual projects within globally recognized research groups, enabling them to address real-world challenges. Aspiring applicants will gain a holistic understanding of sustainable energy, coupled with practical industrial training opportunities.
Flexibility is a key feature of this programme, with students having the option to study in both Chennai and Birmingham. The curriculum offers two pathways for students to choose from:
Option 1 - A 12-month study period in the UK, including a research project conducted at Birmingham
Option 2 - Six months of study in the UK, followed by completion of the programme and a research project at IIT Madras.
Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will receive a single degree jointly awarded by both universities. This unique collaboration between IIT Madras and the University of Birmingham promises to prepare students for impactful careers in the field of sustainable energy systems.
