Bengaluru: Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced that it has blocked over 1.80 lakh malicious links and protected more than 2.3 million users in Karnataka within just 25 days of launching its advanced fraud detection system.

The initiative comes amid a rise in online fraud and is part of Airtel’s nationwide rollout of its AI-powered fraud detection technology.

According to a company statement, the system is automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband users and actively scans links shared via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, email, and web browsers.

The advanced solution uses real-time threat intelligence to inspect over 1 billion URLs every day and blocks access to harmful websites in less than 100 milliseconds, Airtel said.
