Days after accusing Twitter of supporting secessionists, the Nigerian government suspended Twitter indefinitely.

Lai Mohammed, the Information and Culture Minister, said the indefinite suspension was due to "the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria's corporate existence."

The government had raised suspicions on Twitter after it deleted President Muhammadu Buhari's tweet referring to the country's civil war between 1967 and 1970.
