The Leaders of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (Asean) are expected to meet in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, next week to discuss the political crisis in Myanmar following the military coup on February 1.

As per a source, the summit of the 10-member Asean bloc called for by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo last month is likely to be held in person on April 24 in Jakarta.

"All the 10 countries are expected to be represented," the source added.

According to Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), a Myanmar human rights group, over 700 people have been killed by Myanmar military forces after protests broke out against the coup that deposed the democratically elected Aung San Suu Kyi government.
