Rome: Putting a severe burden on Pakistan, which has been facing a serious economic crisis for years, a new challenge has been revealed by a report released by the UN. The Global Report on Food Crisis, released by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), reveals that 11 million people in Pakistan are suffering from starvation. The report also says that 1.7 million people are on the verge of famine.

It was on Friday that the FAO released the report, revealing the true face of the miserable life of the people of Pakistan. The report says that the situation is worse in conflict-affected areas such as Balochistan, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In addition, the report says that 68 rural districts in Pakistan have been politically neglected for years and are in the grip of famine. Floods have worsened the situation in many places. Malnutrition is also reported to be prevalent in the southern regions of Balochistan and Sindh provinces.

Meanwhile, the sour ties between India and Pakistan continue, and India seems to put more pressure on its neighbour.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly decided to skip the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup and even pull out from the Men’s Asia Cup. It is to be noted that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is currently headed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the Interior Minister in the country’s central government, IANS reported.

India's Ambassador to Israel, J P Singh, said that Pakistan should hand over key terrorists Hafiz Saeed, Sajid Mir, and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi to India, just like the US did with one of the masterminds of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Tahawwur Hussain Rana. Contending that terrorism is a global menace, Singh also called for the formation of an international coalition against it, PTI reported.
