Quetta/ Balochistan: A noted writer from the Pakistan province of Balochistan has declared that the region gained independence from Pakistan amid the ongoing tension following India’s Operation Sindoor.

Mir Yar Baloch, known for advocating freedom of the Baloch people, made the claims on platform X, urging the United Nations to send peacekeeping forces to the region.

He has called upon the Indian government to allow the opening of a Baloch embassy in New Delhi.

Mir Yar Baloch’s statement came just as tension between India and Pakistan is spiraling with India targeting several terror camps in the neighouring country and Pak-occupied Kashmir.

India said that no military infrastructure of Pakistan has been targeted in the precision attack.

A desperate Pakistan on Thursday continued to escalating tension targeting civilian and military areas by missile and artillery attacks alongside sending in series of drones.

India shot down the incoming drones and missiles and brought down Pakistani fighter jets.

Amid this chaos, Mir Yar Baloch claimed that the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) fighters attacked Pakistan’s gas fields in Dera Bugti, where over 100 gas wells are located.

Taking to X, Mir Yar Baloch wrote: ‘A possible announcement soon should be done as the collapse of the terrorist Pakistan is near. We have claimed our independence and we request India to allow Balochistan's official office, and embassy in Delhi.’

He appealed to the United Nations to recognize the independence of what he said the Democratic Republic of Balochistan, urging to call a meeting of ‘all UN members to lend your support for recognition’.

‘There must be a release of billions of funds for currency, and passport printing,’ he was quoted as saying.

He called upon the UN to tell Pakistan’s army to ‘vacate the territories, air space and sea of Balochistan and leave all the weapons, and property in Balochistan’.

The post added: ‘The control of Balochistan will soon be handed over to the new government of independent Balochistan state and a transitional conclusive interim government will soon be announced. Representation of Baloch women in the cabinet is the fulfilment of commitment to our nation.’

Expressing hope for forming an independent nation, Mir Yar Baloch said that ‘the state ceremony of the independence government of Balochistan will take place soon’, and invited state heads of its ‘friendly countries’ to witness the ceremony and ‘bless’ it.
