‘Went too far, regrets’: Elon Musk about posts against Donald Trump
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Billionaire Elon Musk has expressed regrets over his social media posts against President Trump made in the heat of their quarrel.
Taking to social media platform X, Musk said that some of his posts last week had gone too far.
‘I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,’ he wrote.
Their bromance cooled off recently with Musk openly denouncing Trump’s proposed spending bill.
Musk called the bill a ‘disgusting abomination’, while it was largely viewed to be central to Trump’s domestic agenda for the second term.
Back then Musk wrote: I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it’.
However, the White House took note of Musk’s assertions with Trump later warning the billionaire of ‘very serious consequences’ should he give funding support to Democrats to run against Republicans.
While declining to specify the kind of consequence that might befall Musk, Trump reportedly said: ‘I have no intention of speaking to him.’
Just a weekly previously, Trump had praised Musk openly for his service as the head of the advisory body the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Days after stepping down as the head of the body, Musk started openly targeting Trump triggering a meltdown in their bonhomie with Trump accusing Musk of ingratitude, while threatening to review federal contracts awarded to Musk's companies.
During the escalation of their feud, Elon Musk claimed that Trump was named in the ‘Epstein files’, alleging it as the ‘real reason’ behind having the files not released.
‘Time to drop the really big bomb,’ Musk posted on X. “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!’
Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier known to be spending time in the company of famous people, including politicians, celebrities, royals, and academics, was accused of paying a 14-year-old girl for sex in 2005.
Epstein, who was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, died by suicide in custody in 2019.
